The shortlist for the HSBC Scottish Export Awards in association with Scottish Enterprise has officially been announced.  Loch Duart has been shortlisted for two awards – ‘Large Exporter of the Year’ and ‘Export Team of the Year.’

Businesses from across the nation will come together for a black tie dinner at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow on 23 March to celebrate the entrepreneurial exporting achievements of Scotland’s top exporters.

Exporting and international trade remain high on the Scottish Government’s economic growth agenda and the awards are about recognising the excellence in those emerging, wealth creating companies that are selling their products, services and expertise in scores of overseas markets.

Nominations for the event have surpassed expectations with over 100 exporters entering at least one of the eight categories for 2016 representing £850m in turnover and £482m of exports from Scotland.

Speaking ahead of the event, BQ managing director Bryan Hoare, said: “We’ve been delighted with the level and quality of the entries for 2016 which just shows how much export growth potential there is across Scotland.”

Neil Francis, international operations director at Scottish Enterprise, said: “It’s wonderful to see such high quality companies highlighted by these awards.

“The calibre of entries has been outstanding, and is both a celebration and demonstration of the internationally competitive services and products that Scotland has to offer the world.

“We are delighted with our two nominations which reflect our ongoing commitment to export which accounted for 65% of our turnover in 2015,” is the response of Loch Duart Managing Director, Alban Denton, “Export is based on a mixture of courage, ambition, travel and hard work.  Since Loch Duart won its first export award in 2004 our export sales have more than doubled.  That’s what you can achieve with a great tasting salmon and a dedicated team behind you.”
